The 6Rs are the dispositions that all IOM schools aim to develop in our students. With these learning attitudes, students become successful learners.

  • Readiness
  • Relationships which are Positive
  • Resourcefulness
  • Resilience
  • Remembering Skills
  • Reflectiveness

We have developed our use of 6Rs over the years and you will see them within our vision statements.

In class, the children discuss their progress constantly and evaluate their own behaviours to see what they need to work towards next.

Our learning vision is:

*Be brave - learning is hard

*Challenge yourself - enjoy the stretched zone

*Smile - learning can make you feel good

*Be honest - it's your learning

*Sustain effort - aim to succeed and feel proud when you do

*Fail well - learn from mistakes

*Be positive - with yourself and others

*Reflect - make time to improve

Learning zones

The comfort zone - This is what you know, it’s easy and you can do it on your own.

The stretched zone -This is what you need to learn next. You may need an adult to help you.

The stressed zone - This is way too much for you at the moment. Don’t worry about it!
